Our Profile - Your Advantage

Founded in 1981, registered at the Aachen Chamber of Commerce (HRB 3329) in 1986 as a limited company (GmbH), we are an independent, owner-operated planning and consultancy office engaged in socially sus-tainable and environmentally responsible planning for questions of mobility and access in development projects.

We operate throughout Germany and its neighbouring countries (e.g. Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland, ...).

Our activities cover all aspects of planning, consultation, research, analysis, auditing and knowledge exchange in the following areas:

■ Traffic development planning
■ Inner city and outskirt concepts
■ Park facility concepts
■ Public transport service planning
■ Mobility concepts (pedestrians and bicycles)
■ Transportation concepts for industrial areas
■ Geometric design and traffic engineering
■ Noise reduction and air quality planning
■ Traffic safety concepts
■ Traffic marketing and public relations

The combination of research and planning keeps us on the cutting edge of our field, providing a firm foundation for our work as traffic and mobility consultants, while integrat-ing innovative thinking into our methodology and “product” range, thus raising our readiness for new and unusual challenges.

The access quality and connectivity of highly frequented buildings are significant factors for their success, independently of whether the building is part of a large-scale new development or the rethinking and restructuring of a small locality.

WHERE EXPERIENCED PARTNERS ARE REQUIRED ...

Development projects are seldom in open areas offering complete planning freedom. Some kind of integration into existing traffic networks, primarily motorized vehicles and public transport, is usually necessary. Since the available capacity of these networks is limited, the scaling and arrangement of traffic connections requires a great deal of technical finesse in infrastructure planning, coupled with a solid portion of on-site know-how and experience.

Inner connectivity, the movement and exchange of traffic within the development area itself, or even specific buildings, is also subject to limitations. Economic considerations call for high peak-period performance, while social requirements call for the kind of user comfort and design quality standards that keep environmental surface impact and connective complexity to a minimum.

Our years of experience, gained with a wide range of clients, demonstrate that the early and ongoing engagement of competent traffic infrastructure specialists in the planning stages of a project can be a source of considerable savings. In addition, traffic optimised concepts perform better for all stakeholders, whether users, owners or investors, as is shown by their subsequent market performance

OUR ONE-STOP SERVICE COVERS ALL ASPECTS OF TRAFFIC ACCESS PLANNING

Our competence range spans all the tasks that are involved in the traffic planning, layout and infrastructure requirements of new developments. By way of example, here are just some of the aspects concerned::

Professional contributions to the traffic planning aspects of urban development tenders
Initial traffic planning consultation for new projects (“Phase 0”)
Process monitoring consultation on all questions of traffic planning and related technical issues during development phase
On site locality evaluation prior to fundamental decision-making
Traffic analysis as a professional contribution to effective land use and the preparation of a planning application
Accessibility concepts for securing and optimising traffic connectivity in new development zones
Concepts for traffic connectivity within the development area itself or inside individual buildings, including organisation and management, signposting and guidance systems
Planning assistance for access routes, parking facilities and additional traffic zones.

We structure our operations toward problems, targets and solutions. To minimize resource deployment and costs, we individually tailor our services to client requirements

OUR TOOLKIT: METHODOLOGY AND TECHNIQUES

The range of planning methods at our disposal is wide. For example, our “toolkit” contains:

Estimation of expected traffic load and parking requirements for the area to be built
Traffic simulation for interconnected networks of streets, in order to graphically demonstrate predicted changes from new traffic sources (macro-simulation)
Calculation of the capacity of streets and junctions, quantifying reserve capacity and overload points
Development of optimum parameters for car parks and multi-stories, targeting frequent use opportunities
Dynamic simulation of traffic situations for individual streets and junctions (micro-simulation)
Neighbourhood security and crime prevention auditing for planning and development concepts
Cost estimates for traffic infrastructures (investment, operation, subvention etc.).

To handle such tasks we have the best mobility planning and technical software available, as well as a vast reserve of empirical data.
But an applied methodology is only as good as the in-depth and specific questioning it is based on. Such clarification occupies the foreground in each initial contact, defining the precise framework of our offer.
